Planners face an increasingly difficult struggle to get public acceptance of development projects a new survey has found. The percentage of people who have objected to a development project in the past year has increased to 21 per cent, up from 13 per cent in 2007. General opposition to development is running at 85 per cent which is down 1 per cent from 2007. The projects most often opposed are schools (43 per cent), wind farms (21 per cent) and private housing (19 per cent).
