A housing association has apologised for sending ‘intimidating’ rental reminders to its tenants. The cards show a lamb, along with the message: ‘Are you up for the chop this spring? Pay your rent on time’ and were sent out by Arena Housing to 14,000 social homes across Merseyside and the North West. One of the tenants who received a card said that this was a ‘mafia-style’ approach that threatens those in the care of the housing association. The director of Arena Housing apologised unreservedly.
